Significant Works of TBM Pipe Jacking
The project located in Clear Water Bay Road, where ID900mm, ID1200mm, ID1430mm and ID1500mm Jacking Pipes were scheduled to lay for the installation of sewerage pipes. A Jacking Pipe, length 140m with internal diameter 1430mm, was carried out near Shun Chi Court by using TBM1350DHL. Geotechnical condition of the path was granite hard rock and the level between Jacking Pit at the higher position and Receiving Pit at the lower position was 11m different. Jacking Pipe pushed forward was 4.5 degree inclined angle, this required 79mm of Jacking Pipe descended in 1 meter. Although hard rock and inclined angle produced very high friction and gave difficulties to TBM control and pipe jacking operation, our working team resolved all problems and met the work schedule, counting on our experience and endeavor.
