Significant Works of TBM Pipe Jacking
There were 3 sections of ID1650mm Sewerage Lining Pipe to be installed at Hung Hom Station and Stabling Sidings of MTRC by using Tunneling Boring Machine AVN1650TB (Herrenknecht) Pipe Jacking Method and each section was approximate 120m.
Three jacking pipe drives have to cross the intermixed and complex geotechnical circumstances. We encountered Artificial Hard material including Diaphragm Wall, Unreinforced Concrete Piles along the pipe jacking length during TBM driving operation. Especially the TBM driven in the “dump Yard” zone, our TBM cutter head has frequently bunted against the hard and tough materials, they could be the abandoned Concrete Blocks, Train Wheel Axels, Car Engine Blocks or Body Parts, etc.
Experienced Engineers, skillful TBM Operators and Workers have been arranged to manage and handle the project, they formed a powerful working team and work with extreme care, step by step to overcome all problems. Through every endeavors we made, the work has been completed as scheduled.
