Operation Process

1.  The operator has complete information about existing utilities to plan the alignment, to avoid damaging from utility plant.

2.  The first stage consists of drilling a pilot hole from launching site/pit along a planned path to the exit pit.

3.  The second stage is to enlarge the pilot hole by passing a larger cutting tool known as the back reamer.

4. Repeat back reaming by larger diameter of the reamer to achieve optimal pipe size. The reamer’s diameter will vary depending on the size of the pipe to be pulled back through the borehole.

5.  The final step is the pullback of the pipe within the pre-reamed hole, placing the casing pipe in the enlarged hole by way of the drill stem to allow centring of pipe in the newly reamed path.
