Micro Tunnelling - Introduction
Microtunneling
Pipe Jacking Method is a trenchless solution for constructing small diameter tunnels that can cross under dense traffic roads, railways, rivers, nullahs and more.
This technique is widely used primarily to install any types of jacking pipe. A Tunnel Boring Machine is launched through an entry eye and operated remotely from a control room on the surface. Pipes behind the machine are pushed with several sturdy hydraulic jacks.
A laser guidance system is commonly used for straight-line alignment and a gyro system for curved alignments to provide effective aid for TBM operators.
